cassandor:

My mother once told me about a band of mercenaries that came
to a peaceful planet. They had a resource there these men coveted, so they took
it. They kept coming back, taking more.

Until finally, the people resisted.

When they returned demanding their tribute, the people
shouted back in one voice, “No more!”

The mercenaries didn’t like the sound of that, so they cut
off the tongue

of every last man,

woman,

and child.

We’re not marauders.

We’re allies.

And the war has just begun.

probably the weirdest information about star wars i could give you is that the death star garbage compactor monster from episode 4 was sentient, was force sensitive, and it wasn’t trying to eat luke – it was trying to baptise him

her name was Omi, she was a lesbian, and she chose her own gender

image

“When her vision was fulfilled, and the Death Star was destroyed, she pondered what she would be in the next life.”

Rey is Omi

This is according to the short story “The Baptist” in the anthology “From a Certain Point of View,” it’s in the current canon and the short story was written by lesser known sci-fi fantasy author Nnedi Okorafor who seems pretty great.

Anyway it’s 100% in line with the weirdness of the previous expanded universe. Tales From Jabba’s Palace and Tales From the Cantina were two of my favorite books as a kid and they made the most random minor aliens into force sensitive heroes and heroines too.

Star Wars is doing great
