My mother once told me about a band of mercenaries that came
to a peaceful planet. They had a resource there these men coveted, so they took
it. They kept coming back, taking more.Until finally, the people resisted.
When they returned demanding their tribute, the people
shouted back in one voice, “No more!”The mercenaries didn’t like the sound of that, so they cut
off the tongueof every last man,
woman,
and child.
We’re not marauders.
We’re allies.
And the war has just begun.
you know what? women shouldn’t be expected to shave anywhere and that’s the tea
But women shouldn’t be shamed for shaving if they want to!!! ♡♡
literally no one has ever shamed any woman for doing what society expects and teaches her she’s got to do to be desirable! thanks! that’s the opposite of the problem!
Also I’m reminded today of how it’s not really possible for me to officially convert to Judaism while I’m still at home, since my family is Catholic/of Catholic decent and celebrates Christian holidays, and whether I want to or not I have to participate in them. Maybe someday when I have more control over my life/who I spend my time with.
walked past a group of older women leaving the synagogue as i was heading in and just heard one of them saying “lesbians are the chosen people”
so im sitting there, tit in hand, dissociating
In honor of Britney Spears’ birthday (December 2), I want to remind everyone that this woman was publically ostracized for struggling with the onset of mental illness, divorce, and losing custody of her children after years of media scrutiny and hypersexualization starting at the age of 17. No, she is not just a crazy woman who shaved her head. She’s the victim of an industry that loves to build a woman up before tearing her down.
